Michael Demner, FSA, FCIA

Chief Actuary and Director

Michael is Arbutus' Chief Actuary and Director. Michael has over 36 years experience as a qualified Actuary, designing insurance products and group benefit and pension plans.

Michael began his career in life insurance in 1972 when he joined the Prudential Assurance Company. He later worked for major international actuarial consulting firms such as Hewitt Associates in Illinois and Toronto, Watson Wyatt and Towers Perrin in Vancouver. Over the years Michael has provided actuarial and consulting services on institutional pension planning, benefit administration and insurance product design to unions, associations and corporations.

Michael obtained a Masters degree from the University of London, England majoring in Mathematics. Michael has been a Fellow of the North American Society of Actuaries and the Canadian Institute of Actuaries since 1974.
